Native Plant Workshop

Want to attract bees, butterflies and birds to your yard or garden? Perhaps a rain garden is just what your landscape needs? Learn why and how to use Native Plants in your landscape or garden designs at a Native Plants Workshop, 10 am - 12 pm, Saturday, April 27 at Hemlock Crossing, 8115 West Olive Road in West Olive. The workshop is hosted by the Ottawa Conservation District as a complement to their annual Native Plant Sale. The Native Plant Workshop will feature Vern Stephens, an expert on native Michigan plants. A passionate plant farmer, Mr. Stephens is widely regarded for his expert knowledge of native Michigan plants. Mr. Stephens will discuss the benefits of using native plants in landscapes and gardens. He offers suggestions for native plants best-suited for your landscape or garden project. He also offers personalized assistance with tips and tricks for site planning and maintenance.
